Sign up for the groups can be made in MyClub (links in the bottom of this page). The groups are taught mainly in Finnish, but our coaches speak English as well. You are very welcome to join the groups no matter the language you speak!

A hobby license is required by the Finnish figure skating association to attend Kehitysryhmä, Jäätimantit and adults´s groups. You can find more info on the licenses here: https://en.taitoluisteluliitto.fi/licenses/licenses25-26/

Skating school: learn to skate while having fun on ice!

Skating school is meant for kids in the age of 3-8 years. In skating school you will learn to skate on weekly lessons with different themes.

On season 2025-2026 the lessons will be held on Wednesdays at 17.15-18 at Hippos training rink 2 (Hippoksenraitti 6, 40700 Jyväskylä). Lessons start on 3.9, and the fall season ends to the club´s Christmas show on 13.12. Spring season starts on week 2 in January and lasts until the end of April. The price is 120€ for fall season and 141€ for spring season. Sign up is for the whole season 25-26 (fall+spring). From skating school you can continue to the follow up- group "Kehitysryhmä".

Kehitysryhmä: follow up- group after skating school 

In Kehitysryhmä you will keep enhancing skills learned in skating school and learn more challenging skills.

On season 2025-2026 the lessons will be held on Wednesdays and Saturdays:

• Wed at 16.30-17.15 on ice and 17.30-18 off ice at Hippos training rink 2
• Sat at 11.30-12.25 on ice at Hippos training rink 2

Lessons start on 3.9 and will continue until the end of April. Price for the group is 78€/month (8 months) + club´s membership payment once per season. You can continue skating from kehitysryhmä to the pre-competition groups of either figure- or synchronized skating.

Jäätimantit: figure skating hobby for teens

Jäätimantit is a hobby- group for youth aged 7-17 (two groups based on age). You can start skating from zero or with some background from the sport. Come with and enjoy skating on your own level! 

On season 2025-2026 the lessons will be held on Tuesdays and Saturdays:

• Tue on 17-17.45 off ice and 18-19 on ice at Buugi ice rink 1
• Sat on 12.25-13.10 on ice at Hippos training rink 2

Lessons start on 2.9 and will continue until the end of April. Price for the group is 246€ for fall season and 246€ for spring season + club´s membership payment once per season. Sign up is for the whole season 25-26 (fall+spring).

Adult´s group: Begin a new hobby on ice! 
 

In the adult´s group you can learn to ice skate or challenge yourself by learning new skills!

On season 2025-2026 the lessons will be held on Sunday evenings at Hippos training rink or Buugi ice rink. The time and place will be specified as soon as possible. Lessons start on 7.9 and will continue until the end of April. Price for the group is 190€ for fall season and 190€ for spring season + club´s membership payment once per season. Sign up is for the whole season 25-26 (fall+spring). Payment with Edenred, Epassi and Smartum is possible (contact toimisto@jytls.fi with the receipt).
